Product Details
+For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1934 - 1st Generation Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. The color is absolutely stunning on Parker Vac.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Feather Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, 14K 2-Tone U.S.A. Parker NIB and bottom tassel. The gold filled trim displays "No Brassing". Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Slender Size which measures 4 3/4" capped and 5 3/4" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow gold filled clip with the 3-Ring Cap Banding that displays no brassing. The top & bottom jewels are striped to match the cap and barrel and polished to a glorious shine. The section is also striped to match the pen's cap, barrel, and jewels. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 1934 in the 4th quarter". There are no monograms or personalization to either the cap or barrel. The transparency of the barrel is excellent and a person can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits.
This Parker Vacumatic has the correct Lockdown Filler Unit for this 1st Generation Era Parker Pen. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Lockdown Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 6 to 8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit, so it operates smoothly.
The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold 2-Tone Split Arrow NIB, which has a smooth writing experience. The Nib is dated with a "4" for 1934 which would make the Nib and Body a marriage. The platinum coating on the NIB is roughly 80-85% intact and just looks amazing. The 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .74mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium to a broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .74mm and the broad line measures at 1.03mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid that has all the "high-line" features; 3-Ring Cap Banding, 2-Tone NIB, Striped Section, Striped top and bottom Jewels with excellent transparency. I would consider this Parker to fall in Excellent to Near Mint Condition - certainly collector grade. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
