For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Lovely Restored 1937 Parker Emerald Pearl Double Jewel Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. This is generally viewed as an "early form" of the double-jewel Major, though not the earliest, which would be those pens featuring the "Vacumatic" cap-band.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap Band (///\\\) and 14K NIB. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen. This Parker Emerald Pearl has some fabulous color, some the best I have seen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition showing no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always secure tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip which displays no brassing. The Chevron Cap Band displays no brassing as well. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the fountain pen cap and body - I polished both to bring back a beautiful shine. The barrel is clearly with, "Geo. S. Parker Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 7 (for 1937) in the 4th Quarter". The transparency of the barrel is heavily ambering with is being difficult to see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits and its tassel does display a hint of slight brassing on the edge. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 3/16" in length capped and 6 3/16" posted.

This Parker Vacumatic has the proper 2nd Generation Speedline Filling Unit. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 8-13 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit and now operates smoothly and function as it originally was designed to.

The Parker NIB is a 14K split arrow NIB. The iridium is great and creates a wonderful writing experience. The 14K Parker Vacumatic NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided in the image ranges from an extra fine stroke that measures .42mm and to a medium stroke of roughly .60mm with medium pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

These early 2nd Generation Major Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pens are increasingly difficult to find which makes this an excellent collector variant to add to one's writing arsenal collection. I would grade this Parker Vacumatic in Excellent Condition and is ready to write or add to your collection.
