For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 1939 Parker Vacumatic Burgundy Celluloid Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Shadow Wave pattern. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Cap Banding, and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has excellent transparency with a person easily seeing through the barrel, albeit with minor ambering. The cap has the Gold Filled Clip that is in perfect condition - no brassing. The cap banding displaying a wonderful bright gold filled color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with a clear imprint that reads, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA with a 9 date code (for 1939) in the 2nd quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Debutante Model that measures 4 3/4" in length capped and 5 1/2" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water in about 6 to 8 presses and it will roughly fill full. This Parker Vac 2nd Generation Fountain Pen has the Speedline filling unit, typical on 2nd generation Vacs. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works as it was originally designed to.

This Vacumatic has the 14K U.S.A. Parker NIB with a fine point measuring roughly .51mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB is the split arrow 14K that is in very good condition that creates a very smooth writing experience. This Parker Vac will write with a medium to double broad lines/strokes. The writing sample provided in the image has a medium stroke that measures .64mm and can flex to a broad/double broad roughly 1.20mm with medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Parker Vac Shadow Wave in Burgundy is considered to be the hardest to find color. Additionally, these are difficult to find for clean trim, great transparency, and with a clean imprint - like this one has. The celluloid burgundy pearl color is gorgeous and displays very well. I would grade this Parker Burgundy Shadow Wave in Excellent condition and would consider it collector grade. This is truly a gorgeous Parker Vac from the 2nd Generation that is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
