For your consideration we are offering for sale this Gorgeous Restored 1941 Senior Maxima Parker Double Jewel Golden Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. This one is very clean. No brassing, nice color and decent clarity (reddish-orange clarity).

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Feather Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap Banding, 14K Parker NIB and bottom tassel. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is an Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The color is extremely vibrant and gorgeous to look at. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding that displays no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 1 for 1941 in the 3rd Quarter". The blind cap securely fits. I want to point this out for clarity sake, the feed is missing a tooth, as you can see in image nine, and the section has a few marring marks - none of which affect the operation of the pen.

I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly. The Speedline filling system is the correct filling unit for 2nd generation Parker Vacumatics, which this Vac is.

This is where this Parker gets very interesting, as you typically do not see NIBs that flex like this on Parker USA NIBs...This Parker NIB is 14K and VERY FLEXIBLE, I cannot emphasis this enough. The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold Split Arrow NIB, which writes extremely smooth, in addition to being flexible! The actual 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to a triple broad stroke plus stroke. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .56mm (with light pressure) on the horizontal strokes and the triple broad stroke measures at 2.81mm with firm/medium pressure when measuring with digital calipers (see image 11). The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is one of those vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pens you don't always get a chance to secure in your collection with this type of flexible NIB. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent Condition, the color is fantastic with the gold filled trim being in fabulous condition. It Parker Senior Maxima with a flex NIB that is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
