Product Details
+For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1945 Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the scarce Nassau Green production color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now again in writing condition. This Nassau 51 is a fantastic example!
I have ultrasonically cleaned the feed, collector, breather tube, hood, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand cleaned the 1/10 16K Gold Filled Cap, Blue Diamond Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, Blind Cap Tassie, and 14K Parker NIB. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, blind cap, and hood to bring back the vibrancy and protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker 51 is Full Size and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations on either the cap or barrel.
This 1945 Parker 51 has the 1/10 16K Gold-Filled repeating line cap with Blue Diamond Arrow Clip. The cap secures to the clutch/barrel tightly with a friction fit. The cap is excellent with no gold fill loss, dings, dents, or blemishes. The clutch ring still retains the center channel gold wash. The fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The barrel is perfectly stamped on two lines that read, "PARKER 51 Made in U.S.A. 5 date code for 1945 in the 1st Quarter".
This Parker 51 has a Vacumatic Filling System that has been rebuilt. I have tested the Vacumatic filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 10-13 presses.
The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line ranges from .63mm to .69mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink. I would like to point out that the nib on this Parker 51 writes very smoothly.
This vintage Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a scarce production color, Nassau Green, to add to one's collection. I would consider this Parker to grade in Excellent Condition, bordering on Excellent . It is ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
