＋For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Fabulous Restored 1945 Parker Senior Duofold Fountain Pen in the Green Gold Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. The Celluloid is some of the best I have seen in this Green Gold color - it is just amazing!
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Gold NIB. I have also cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with no brassing. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Band displays a wonderful gold filled color, also, with no brassing. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel is clear and crisply stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 5 (for 1945) in the 3rd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is Near Water Clear as one can easily see through it. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
The Vacumatic Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses and it will fill full. This Vacumatic Filling unit is in excellent condition; it has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
This Parker Duofold has the highly sought after 14K "V" NIB and has a 1945 date code which makes it a marriage to the rest of the pen - this nib is ultra-smooth and almost feels like it glides across the paper. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker "V" NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .72mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, the NIB writes with a medium to double broad stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image has a medium stroke measuring at .61mm and can flex to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.35mm with medium to firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. Again, I have to say the Nib on this Parker writes amazing smooth - I cannot emphasize this enough! The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
