＋For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Fabulous RESTORED 1945 Parker Striped Duofold Senior Fountain Pen in Green Gold Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the "V" NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron (\\\///) Cap Banding, and 14K Duofold "V" NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished, and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks, or repairs. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with no brassing on the clip. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding displays a wonderful gold filled color with no brassing. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel has a crisp imprint and is clearly stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 5 (for 1945) in the third quarter". The transparency of the barrel is excellent as one can see through it clearly - only very minor ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no personalizations or monograms to either the cap or barrel on this fountain pen.
The Vacu-Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 8 presses and it will roughly fill 7/8 full. This Vacu-Fill unit has been greased and is in excellent condition - it operates smoothly and works flawlessly as it did when manufactured.
The 14K Parker Duofold "V" NIB performs wonderfully and has a smooth, medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample this NIB writes with a medium to broad stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image ranges with a medium stroke measuring .60mm and the broad stroke measures roughly 1.12mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
