+For your consideration we are offering for sale this Fabulous Restored Circa 1946 Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Emerald Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
The NIB, Feed, Section and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap (///\\\) Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Major size that measures 5 1/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Emerald Pearl color is simply beautiful with vibrant Emerald Peal color. The cap has the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding displaying no brassing. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC with the MADE IN U.S.A". The barrel transparency is water clear - this is how a collector wants to see them. The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.
This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct filling unit that was produced for the 3rd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12-15 presses to fill nearly full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.
This Parker Vacumatic NIB is 14K Gold with a medium point that measures .62mm when measured with digital calipers. The 2-Tone Nib is in perfect condition with no wear. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium line. In the writing sample provided, the stroke/line ranges from .61mm to .88mm with firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The nib on the Parker writes smoothly. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This Parker Emerald Pearl Vacumatic Fountain Pen doesn't get much better, this Parker Vac - the celluloid is vibrant and looks incredible, the trim is bright and clean, and the barrel has perfect water clear transparency. I would consider this Maxima to be grade in Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
